I have missed the old Story Board, even though I didn't participate in it for years before finally shutting it down. There were some great threads there.
I've spent a lot of time in the last few days looking at ways to recover it. But when I restored the database of several hundred megabytes, there were 540+ pages of spam links, with no way to mass delete them, even if I could separate wheat from chaff. The forum system is no longer maintained (though it seems it still is functional), and there's no good way to import the old data into a new BBS/forum system.
This system, Flarum, seems easy to use and was easy to set up. I'm hoping it will be easy to administer, and relatively easy to protect against spammers.
After so many years, I have no idea whether anyone's really interested in participating. I'll eventually shut it down if it's just spam with no posts, but I'd like to give it one more try.
